Quality/New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer

Previous Experience

  • Leading new product introduction projects from concept to production

  • Producing and developing designs from concept into production

  • Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models

  • Working with design engineering teams to optimise casting designs for manufacturability and performance

  • Developing and implementing manufacturing processes for new products

  • Optimising production processes for efficiency, cost, quality, and safety

  • Managing suppliers, including tooling, materials, and issue resolution

  • Handling non-conformance, corrective actions, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and FMEA

  • Planning and overseeing product testing, validation, and third-party inspections

  • Driving continuous improvement through KPI analysis and performance data

  • Experience with internal audits, standards control, and calibration management

Qualifications Required

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, and quality systems

  • Understanding of regulatory, customer, and industry standards

  • Ability to analyse data to support design, process, and quality decisions

  • Familiarity with risk management tools and quality planning methods

  • Capability to validate procedures, performance measures, and improvement targets

  • Willingness to undertake training related to quality requirements

Role Duties

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation

  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans to meet targets

  • Coordinate and chair NPI meetings as required

  • Capture and implement all design modifications and improvements

  • Establish processes that minimise manufacturing cost and improve associate safety

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, manufacturing, operations, and quality

  • Communicate project status, risks, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders

  • Coordinate supplier and vendor requirements, including purchase orders

  • Analyse results and implement necessary design or process changes

  • Lead and deploy manufacturing best practices to reduce cost, cycle time, and improve material flow

  • Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements

  • Create and maintain product release documentation packages

  • Complete quality plans when required

  • Control standards documentation and manage internal audits

  • Inform internal stakeholders immediately of quality issues impacting customers

  • Arrange and manage calibration activities, ensuring records and certificates are maintained

  • Champion and support quality improvement initiatives across the business

  • Drive objectives and KPIs to improve overall business performance

  • Support the development of a facility that consistently delivers recognised quality products
