Castings Technology Wins Manufacturer of the Year Award

Thursday 7th May 2026 was the Made in Sheffield Awards.

Castings Technology had two apprentices, Addison Brentnall and Will Oakley, shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year, and the company itself was shortlisted for Manufacturer of the Year.

The Awards look at the past 12 months only.  When you consider what Castings Technology has achieved in that period, we knew we stood a chance even though we were amongst stiff competition.

In the past 12 months we have:

  • Received £15m investment from Zachary Asset Holdings
  • Signed the lease for our new 200,000sqft premises on Shepcote Lane – currently undergoing a £multi-million landlord refurbishment
  • Appointed a Training and Development Manager to ensure smooth induction of new team members and to provide a mapped career plan for those who want one.
We also hit the milestone of employing over 100 people and this number has already increased and set to continue to rise as we move into the new facility.

When you consider that in 2021, when Richard Cook (MD) and Kevin Parkin (Chairman) completed the Management Buy-Out the company was losing money… the turnaround is astounding.

No single person can be highlighted, the Award is testimony to all Castings Technology’s team for all their continued dedication and hard work.

Our apprentices did not win their category but they tell us being shortlisted is all the recognition they needed to know their hard work is being acknowledged.
