Mike McCarthy co-founder of The Baton of Hope, dropped by to present our Workplace Pledge certificate last week.  He is pictured here with our Chief Commercial Officer, Shaun Smith.

The Baton of Hope is a national charity, founded after Mike sadly lost his 32 year old son to suicide.

Their Workplace Pledge provides companies with specialist training on the signs someone is feeling suicidal and how to have difficult conversations with those individuals, including asking them ‘do you feel suicidal?’   

Those signs are not always easy to spot when everyone is busy at work, and having direct conversations can be even more difficult.

The team at Castings Technology have gone through The Baton of Hope’s training and the feedback was resoundingly positive.  

Everyone felt they have significantly more confidence to have conversations they were previously uncomfortable with.
